Our application process in detail
We want to support you right from the start. So here are a few tips and some information about our application process.
Your application
Your application is our first impression of you. Show us which skills you’ve acquired, what experience you’ve gained, and which projects you’ve worked on—and explain why they’re a particularly good fit for the position we’re advertising and for OPTANO.
Please make sure all documents are complete:
- Cover Letter
- Employment references
- Relevant work samples
- Certificates and documents
- For students: current certificate of achievement
Professionals can highlight relevant positions, team sizes, and project scopes.
Students and Young Professionals Relevant projects, seminar papers, or practical experience can complement this.
Keep it short: Your cover letter should be no longer than one page.
During the screening process, our recruiters work with the relevant department to review your application with a view to the advertised position and other potential roles within the company.
The Video Call
If we see a suitable opportunity and are impressed by the professional content of your application, we’ll contact you to schedule an initial interview. The main focus of this interview is for us to get to know each other.
Be prepared so that you can take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the position, OPTANO, and the relevant department.
After the call, we reflect on the conversation, and if both sides remain interested, we schedule a (face-to-face) interview as soon as possible.
The interview
We’d like to get to know you better during a one-on-one interview. Typically, in addition to recruiters, members of the executive and divisional management teams also participate in this interview.
Typical topics include:
- A brief overview of your resume
- Motivation and Sharing Experiences
- Subject-Specific Case: Depending on the role, this case requires, among other things, creativity, communication skills, and subject-matter expertise
- Discussion about the position and about working at and with us
After the interview, we'll try to let you know our decision as soon as possible. We'd also be happy to provide you with structured feedback on our interview.
Onboarding
Once you've accepted the offer, we'll guide you through a structured onboarding program that includes the following, among other things:
- Checklist for a Structured Start
- Structured Yet Streamlined IT and HR Onboarding
- Kickoff of the Mentoring Program and Regular Feedback
