Here at OPTANO, Operations Research specialists, software developers and consultants all work together in project teams where we make complex mathematical optimization methods deployable for end users. We develop customized application software on the basis of our OPTANO platform as well as individual planning software. Our clients are successful companies  such as car manufacturers and airlines as well as leading strategy consultancies.

Since our establishment in 2009, we have become a very renowned company in our field. Our team in Paderborn currently has 35 employees.

We need your impetus

Discuss software features together with our developers and consultants from a user perspective and then compile technical documentation which clearly and comprehensibly explains how end users can use our individual software systems. As an under-graduate Technical Writer, you will assist our team in the following tasks:

  • Creating user documentation to explain how our software products work
  • Creating sample data for visualization purposes
  • Checking the features and processes on the product
What we require

Even though we place great value on soft skills and good team work, the following criteria are also necessary if you want to support us in technical documentation:

  • technical documentation interests you
  • you have a very good command of both German and English
  • you can write texts accurately and concisely
  • you can work independently and efficiently
  • you have an affinity for new technology and methods

Experience in using the software MadCap Flare would be an advantage but is not essential. As a working student, you will receiving thorough training in the technology we apply.

This is a part-time position and on  a temporary basis. However, as a dynamic, growing business, we would be interested in establishing a long-term working relationship, also after successful completion of your degree course.
