In this section we’ll occasionally present books that we think are worth reading. Worth reading because they impart knowledge, inspire reflection or are simply a fascinating read.

Today: Good to Great

by Jim Collins

What is it about?

In his book “Good to Great” Jim Collins reveals how companies make the transition from being a good company to a great company and why, ultimately, so many fail.

Collins presents 7 key characteristics that define a “great” company, among them: great leadership that is driven to do what is best for the company while still remaining humble,  how modern technology is used to accelerate growth, and more…

Why should I read it?

Do you want to learn how to lead your business to enduring success? This very entertaining management book shows you how. While some may consider it to be somewhat “dated” (published in 2001), its theories are still relevant today. Back then, Collins and his 21-man research team accumulated 384 megabytes of computer data, read and coded 6,000 articles and compiled more than 2,000 pages of interview transcripts in the course of five years. His account of this accomplishment alone makes for fascinating reading. I certainly recommend it!
