Award for ORCONOMY employee

ORCONOMY employee awarded for excellent Master Thesis

ORCONOMY employee, Britta Heymann, has reason to celebrate. She is among just very few graudates who were awarded for their outstanding master theses at the graduation ball of  Paderborn University’s Faculty for Electrotechnology, Information Technology and Mathematics on 28 June 2019. It is the second time that Britta has been awarded for her master thesis. In July 2018, she received a prize from the DS&OR Alumni e.V.

Britta received the award for her master thesis on the subject of„Integrating Continuous Optimization Methods into a Population-Based Algorithm Configurator” which she wrote over a period of six months in cooperation with ORCONOMY GmbH in 2018. Britta had joined ORCONOMY’s development department as an undergraduate assistant  in April 2017.

“Working at ORCONOMY as an undergraduate assistant is something I cannot recommend enough,” says Britta. “As a student, you are on equal terms with the colleagues, you’re assigned really interesting jobs and you are even given responsibility.”
Britta joined the team as an OR expert on a full-time basis in June 2018.
